Embers- Embers are a leading cause of structure fires, especially in wildfires, as they are carried by the wind and can land on combustible materials like gutters, decks, and under vegetation, leading to ignition. These small, burning fragments can smolder for hours before igniting a fire, or they can enter a home through small openings and vents. Embers are estimated to be responsible for 60% to 90% of home ignitions during wildfires. 

Radiant Heat- Radiant heat can cause structure fires, particularly in wildfires, by preheating combustible materials and igniting them without direct flame contact. This invisible heat travels in waves and can ignite homes from a distance by reaching the ignition temperature of materials like wood
